Today’s presentation describes the evolution of Art Deco in Calcutta, India from the time of its introduction shortly after the Paris Exhibition of 1925 and concluding with the post WWII period. This twenty-five year period was a time of great turmoil in Calcutta. It’s an important story that needs to be better known.
Even if you can’t attend at the scheduled time, if you’re interested, please register. After the program, we’ll send an email to all registrants, asking if you’d like a link to the complete recording. That way you can see the program even if you couldn’t attend live, ran into technical issues, or simply wanted to watch it again.
Our presenter, Adhiraj Bose, is a corporate attorney and life-long resident of Calcutta. He has been researching the history of Art Deco in Calcutta for several years — both independently and in collaboration with the Calcutta Heritage Collective.
